A battle of electricity, batteries and charging capacities is about to be fought in Mexico. Chevrolet already presented the Bolt EUV, his first SUV totally electric, on national soil. It is a 4.3 meter long van, with space to transport up to five passengers and higher than that offered by the Bolt regular.
Its completely closed and black grille is accompanied by headlights with IntelliBeam and very angular lines for the bodywork, which gives the feeling of a sculpted silhouette.
In addition, it incorporates aluminum wheels of 17 inch and roof rails very much like a station wagon.
Inside, there is a touch screen of 10.2 inch and an 8-inch digital instrument panel. The Bolt EUV also comes with wireless connectivity from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless smartphone charger and internet connection for up to seven devices, through the function of OnStar 4G LTE.
To add an extra bit of tech, the electric pickup from Chevrolet also comes with the smart assistant Amazon Alexa and with the application of Spotify, both incorporated into the infotainment of the vehicle, so they can be used without the need to pair the phone.
Do you have what it takes to compete with Tesla?
The Bolt EUV wants to distinguish itself from other electric vans with its autonomy, since it is capable of traveling 397 kilometers on a single charge, in addition to its engine allowing it to generate up to 200 horsepowerat 266 pound-feet of torque, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 7 seconds.
When it reaches stores, the price of the EUV will be 930,900 pesos, which places it right in the competition range of the Model Y from Tesla, whose base price is 1,309,000 pesos in version Long Rangand.
The price difference in turn impacts the autonomy of the vehicle, the Tesla Model Y is able to travel 525 kilometers on a single charge, almost 125 kilometers more than the Bolt.

Now that if you want to incorporate full autonomous driving into the Model Y, the price difference increases, as this function, which is one of Tesla’s biggest differentiators, has an extra cost of 177,200 weights. With what the difference with respect to the Chevrolet truck would already exceed the half a million pesos.
So the Bolt EUV would be comfortably located in a lower price range with a fairly decent autonomy for day to day. There are definitely other differences, such as the design and the equipment, but with regard to technical capabilities both models are very similar and in the same price segment. Now, the question is: What do you think is the most attractive option?
