Two months ago Google introduced a feature called Gmailify to improve the management of non-Google accounts. This, in short, has managed to access almost the same functionalities that one has with Gmail when using a Yahoo and Outlook / Hotmail account.
After two months, today we have a novelty for Gmail in its Android app by receiving support for Microsoft Exchange email accounts on all its devices. This addition remedies one of the biggest shortcomings that Gmail has had for those who want to mix personal and professional information from the same space.
Now when a new account is added to Gmail, there is a dedicated Exchange option at the bottom of the list. The update should already be present in the Play Store for all Android users for the next few days according to Google itself.
For more than two years, Google has been supporting third-party email providers such as Yahoo, Outlook and Hotmail in its mobile app for Android. Regardless, Exchange has been conspicuously absent from the list unless you had a Nexus device, which has supported Microsoft’s enterprise server since 2014.
With today’s update, Gmail is an even better option for all users using an Android device. Now the only thing left is for Google to remove some of the restrictions that iPhone owners with Gmail accounts have.
A great step to give greater versatility to an Android device with the Gmail app installed in order to access the work account and not have to be relegating to others in order to be aware of all the emails you have.
