A future Apple Watch could measure our blood pressure using a smart inflatable strap, according to this patent.
The latest release Apple Watch Series 7 has simply been an update of the iteration from last year, and if you are waiting for the Cupertino people to venture a step forward to offer a much more advanced watch, you may be interested in this patent that has just been discovered on a hypothetical strap capable of measuring the wearer’s blood pressure.
And it is that it is not the first time that those of Cupertino are rumored that they are seeking to introduce a kind of blood pressure measurement in the Apple Watch, and it is likely that in the future we can see it in an iteration of a device that could innovate on all in regards to the strap.
A patent discovered by Apple Insider has revealed that those of Cupertino may be exploring new ways to control our blood pressure with the smart watch, and would do so through an inflatable strap.
According to the description of the patent it can be read that “a user can monitor one or more of their physiological parameters by placing a monitoring device such as a blood pressure monitor on one of their limbs”.
“The blood pressure monitor may include an extendable cuff that secures an inflatable bladder against a limb of the user.”He continues.
This can be very interesting for those users who require a constant measurement of blood pressure simply by buying some type of strap separately, although it would be something that could make the general purchase of the product more expensive.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 It offers a kind of blood pressure monitoring but requires the occasional recalibration with a real blood pressure monitor, so Apple would be looking for a more direct solution but that could skyrocket the price of the smartwatch.
In any case, it has been previously commented that the measurement of blood pressure could be a feature that we see in the Watch Series 8 that is launched in 2022, although we will see if it would come through a smart strap.
