It was in 1963 when the company was established under the name of “RIVFER SA de CV” to begin its position in the marketing of products such as; equipment and services in various markets such as photography, electronic images, professional cinema, graphic arts, health, and storage and information.
The company has had to quickly adapt to the digital environment by developing new technologies and lines of business, which also includes health care. health with the introduction of Synapse PACS, incorporating the lines of endoscopy, in-vitro diagnostics, ultrasound, tomography and magnetic resonance, and on the other hand it introduces the equipment and products of FUJIFILM Business Innovation, formerly FUJI Xerox.

Fujifilm Mexico celebrates its 60th anniversary
Throughout these six decades, several events have happened in the current panorama of the brand. In 1963, when it began operations, it only participated in the motion picture film market, but already in 1972 it served as the exclusive representative for Fujifilm’s line of films and photographic articles, until it became what it is today, under that premise. Alexander Giraud, Vice President of Marketing at Fujifilm de México since 2014 it has been a key player in the development of the industry and has been part of the restructuring of the Own Stores business, commercialization of the Cinema and Printing Services line, as well as the closing of negotiations for the distribution of brands such as Chromaluxe , Sigma and Zhiyun, to mention a few, in Mexico.
In that sense, Alexander Giraud He pointed out that despite the time that has elapsed, they continue to sell one or another photographic roll since it is part of the brand’s DNA.
“Our best-selling products were photographic film, video tape, even CD’s, audio cassettes, all magnetic recording products for audio and video. Today everything I said no longer exists, but we knew how to adapt very well and we grew year after year”, said Alejandro Giraud.
He reiterated that photographic film was falling very quickly along with the growth of digital cameras, and he believes that it is expensive to modify the entire infrastructure so that everything adapts to the digital age.
“Everything we sold changed, Fujifilm as a brand knew how to adapt very well to these changes, it knew how to take advantage of the technologies that we have and where we are experts to develop new products to get on this digital ship and really stand out within the industries in those of us who participated in this first decade that was very complicated”, commented Alejandro Giraud.
It should be noted that during the 80’s, in the “golden age” of photographic film, the company was allowed to grow exponentially with the help of large national and international sponsorships such as: the Red Devils, the Great Mexico Award, the 1984 Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup (including Mexico 1986) and the Jordan Formula 1 team, among others.
“When we talk about marketing, we are an extremely complex company and this is due to the fact that today we have 4 different lines of business, which is photography, the digital printing line, graphic arts and the health line that today is the bigger”, commented Alejandro Giraud.
And it is that although there is no advertising for the consumer, they make a lot of efforts to marketing with different marketing strategies in each of its lines.
During the last years the company has maintained a double-digit annual growth; It has a staff of more than 400 collaborators working in our country and more than 1,200 active clients; and has managed to transform various challenges into opportunities, by offering quality, avant-garde, design and technology in its different business areas: Health, Graphic Arts, Printing Services, Photography and Business Innovation.
