The Mexicans in Black Panther
In recent days there has been talk of the actors Tenoch Huerta and Mabel Cadena, who are part of the world of Black Panther in the next installment.
However, although they have grabbed the spotlight with the news, they are not the only Mexicans who participate in this high-caliber production.
For this reason, we review who are all the Mexicans who are part of this project that will be released on November 11 and that will be the end of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Tenoch Huerta
The 41-year-old actor from Ecatepec, State of Mexico, came to Hollywood and not by chance. His father enrolled him in an acting course with actress María Elena Saldaña and later he studied with Carlos Torres Torrija and Luis Felipe Tovar.
He participated in outstanding films such as James Bond: Specter (2015) and Las Aparicio (2016). Now, in Black Panther 2 he will play “Namor”, a character with his own story, since his interpretation will have references to Mesoamerican cultures.
Mabel Chain
The State of Mexico continues to be present also with the young 32-year-old actress Mabel Cadena, since she is originally from Naucalpan. Her career in acting began at the age of 14 and she passed through the classrooms of CasAzul Artes Escénicas Argos in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Edomex.
She has participated in Mexican cinema in The Goddess of Asphalt (2020) and El baile de los 41 (2020), to name a few. She will now play Namora in Black Panther 2, a hybrid mutant with superhuman strength; Namora is a cousin of Namor (Tenoch’s character).
Joshua Maychi
The cast also includes Josué Maychi, from Hopelchén, Campeche; His family is of Mayan origin. with Black Panther 2 he will have his first foray into Hollywood.
His training as an actor began in Campeche and later he moved to Mexico City to try his luck. In 2019 he performed Potonchanin Hernán, an Amazon Prime Video series.
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever he will play Attuma.
Santa Fe Klan, part of the soundtrack
The 22-year-old rapper Ángel Jair Quezada Jasso, better known as the Santa Fe Klan, is originally from Santa Fe, Guanajuato and is another Mexican who will also have a role in Black Panther 2.
However, unlike Tenoch, Mabel and Josué, the man from Guanajuato will be part of the film but on the soundtrack with his song “Soy”.
Among his most famous songs are “I must understand”, “I will go to look for you” and “Mar y Tierra”.
