Broadway musical star Anthony Ramos joins the MCU as part of the cast of Marvel Studios’ Ironheart series.
Anthony Ramos, known for his participation in Broadway musicals such as Hamilton and In the Heights (known in Latin America as En el Barrio), will join the cast of Ironheart.
According to Deadline, Ramos will arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an as yet unknown role, but it will be a key character in the Ironheart series, which will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who created the most advanced armor since Hombre de Hierro.
The note reads, “Although the details behind Ramos’ role are unknown, sources say it will be similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang the Conqueror in Loki, where he is expected to not only have a big role in this series but also in future Marvel projects.
Although the premiere date of the series is yet to be announced, the same source says that the character of Riri Williams is expected to debut in the MCU in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will be released in November.
Williams was first introduced in Marvel comics in 2016, as the brainchild of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato. In the comics, she is a 15-year-old MIT student who reverse-engineers Iron Man’s armor to create one of her own. Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, takes notice of her and encourages her to pursue the life of a superhero.
