We live in an era in which, according to official data, there are about 5 billion Internet users worldwide.
Information from We Are Social and Hootsuite also reveals that Internet users spend around six hours a day connected to the web.
The criticisms against influencer Rodolfo “Fofo” Márquez have not stopped after sharing a video where he is seen blocking a bridge in full traffic.
After the arrival of the pandemic, the effects of social networks in a world increasingly connected to the so-called “digital life” have become clear.
Hootsuite and We Are Social in their most recent Digital 2022 report reveal that, in principle, there are nearly 5 billion users connected to the internet and, furthermore, to social networks. On the other hand, Internet users spend, on average, almost six hours a day browsing the web.
Now, also with data from DataReportal, today, Facebook is the social network that leads the market with nearly three billion registered users worldwide, even though, in these times, it is not the most popular platform .
In this sense, one of the social networks that have gained the most ground since the arrival of the pandemic is TikTok, founded in 2016 and that last year finally managed to exceed one billion monthly active users.
And it is that, we must not forget that we live in an era in which content creators are an essential part of the strategies of brands or companies that are looking to reach a new audience, more linked to what happens in social media and the power they generate around.
Taking the latter into account, it is not surprising, then, what Morning Consult mentions about the importance or relevance that the profession of “Content Creator” has gained.
According to this consultant, In Latin America alone, 86 percent of people between the ages of 13 and 38 make it a priority to become full-time content creators and generate your own income from it.
“Fofo” Márquez blocks the bridge and criticism rains down on him
However, exposure on social networks today entails, in addition to a certain responsibility, consequences that, on many occasions, are irreversible.
Let’s not forget that the judgment of Internet users, for a few years, is lethal and even capable of ending a professional career.
Based on the latter, it can be said that controversy is part of the life of influencers And as an example, we can cite the example of Rodolfo Márquez, better known on social networks as “Fofo”, who is involved in a series of important criticisms after having blocked the flow of roads on a bridge just to record videos for TikTok.
“Look, I closed peripheral to myself. Once showing what money and power can do in Mexico, where there is no one. People are very annoying there recording me ”, is what he mentions influencer in his video that, some time later, he deleted from TikTok, although other platforms have been responsible for replicating.

“And like why can’t they arrest him if they have evidence?”; “With so much varus and the nose you cannot pay for some classes of verbal expression and diction”; “You should be ashamed to upload that type of content, and more so the people who follow you”; “This sounds to me like a brat is challenging the sovereign state of Jalisco, saying that there is no governance”; are some of the comments deposited by the digital pulse.
Without a doubt, the window of social networks is indispensable today and, in fact, necessary for strategies that hope to reach new audiences; however, in some countries, anyone can become influencer and develop any type of content.
In China, these types of issues have begun to be regulated, after it was announced that the authorities will require influencers have a university degree, at least, to carry out this work. It will be necessary to see if this measure reaches countries like Mexico, where any user can become influencer.
