Amazon announced its first line of its own televisions on Thursday, made up of the models Amazon Fire TV Omni, in the high-end, and Fire TV Series 4, in a more affordable range. They will be available in sizes of 43 to 75 inches And, how could it be otherwise, the Alexa assistant will be integrated to control them and execute actions through voice commands.
This decision to start marketing its own screens responds to the company’s objective of offering a better and smoother Fire TV user experience, which they seek to achieve thanks to an advanced interface, a wide catalog of applications and important improvements in Alexa. ; for instance, voice commands for the assistant on Omni line models will be available even when the TV is turned off.
And, although Amazon already had USB streaming devices, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K presented recently, and worked with TV manufacturers to include their Amazon Fire interface in some of their products, until now it did not have its own televisions. Thus, you can implement without limits and in all its splendor both its interface and the Alexa functionalities.
Amazon explains that the operation of Alexa on its screens will be basically the same as on all other devices where it is present. Thus, the user will be able to ask the assistant to find content to watch, to modify some brightness or volume setting, or to change the video inputs, among several others.
Secondly, Those who already have Echo speakers will be able to link them wirelessly with the new TVs, to enhance the audio experience.
But that’s not all, Amazon’s new TVs also include a smart home control panel which, for now, allows for a few actions like monitoring security cameras and Ring doorbells, but more features and controls for the connected home are expected later this year.
