has arrived in Mexico The Roku Channel, the live TV channel developed to compete against platforms like Pluto TV and ViX. Like those platforms, The Roku Channel will offer free content and productions on demand to satisfy the entertainment needs of all its users.
How to have The Roku Channel?
All the roku devices that have been sold in Mexico since 2017 will have access to The Roku Channel. These will be updated through a digital process so that they can have access to the complete schedule. It should be noted that the channel will only be available to those users of Roku devices and those who have purchased a Roku TV. If you wanted to access the channel from the application, unfortunately you will not be able to do so.
How will it work?
Being a free option for users of the service, no payment for subscription or login will be required. It will be added as an extra to the devices interface. It will have content search options and also advertising.
This will be personalized depending on the programming seen by each user. The Roku Channel will show 8 minutes of advertising for each consumption session and will divide it into four blocks. For example, if the user watches a series for an hour, he will have all the ad units, but if he only enjoys 30 minutes, the advertising time will be proportional.
What’s there to watch on The Roku Channel?
The service will offer more than 7 thousand contents, among which you will find various films and series. For those who prefer live television, they can enjoy more than 25 channels. Over time, up to 30 original productions of the company will be added. Studios such as Sony, Lionsgate and Telefórmula (at the local level) will be some of those in charge of providing content.
In the entertainment section, for example, users can enjoy titles such as:
- blade runner 2049
- the games of destiny
- men in black 2
- The Smurfs in the lost village
- american psycho
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2
