Environmental activists identified as ”last generation” flour was thrown on the work of Andy Warhol, in Milan, Italy, this November 18.
The demonstrators, who were protesting the lack of action by governments in favor of curbing climate change, threw flour on a BMW sports car that was intervened by the American pop artist and is exhibited in the financial capital of Italy.
This is the third attack by activists from last generation in various art exhibitions.
On November 4, in their first public appearance at such an event, protesters dumped soup on a construction site. Vincent van Gogh. He was in Rome.
Days later, on November 15, in Vienna, Austria, they threw a black liquid on a work of Gustav Klimt.
Both paintings were protected by glass, so they did not result in permanent damage.
The work attacked this Friday is the “BMW Art Car”, which Warhol painted in 1979, the same year that the car participated in the “24 hours of Le Mans” competition in France.
After the race, the vehicle was removed and placed in a museum.
The highly publicized demonstrations of last generation for the States to promote tougher actions to avoid global warming coincide with the meetings that are carried out on the climate in Egypt.

“I tried to portray speed pictorially. If a car moves very fast, all the lines and colors are blurred”, explained the artist in relation to the intervention on the BMW M1.
The BMW car used by Warhol finished second in class and sixth overall in the only Le Mans he has ever run.
The tradition of BMW Art Cars began with a BMW 3.0 CSL designed by sculptor Alexander Calder.
In 1982, the Austrian Ernst Fuchs created the work called “Fire Fox Hunting the Rabbit”, the first BMW Art Car based on a series production car.
British superstar David Hockney also intervened on a BMW Art Car. Through his painterly techniques, he brought out what he believes lies beneath the bodywork: its fascinating technology.
