On Twitter, a designer accused Sarelly Sarelly of plagiarism; This tenure has helped several entrepreneurs advertise their businesses.
Small businesses and informal businesses are an important part of the sales statistics in Mexico.
Twitter users highlighted the variety of alternatives to Sarelly Sarelly.
Creativity is not always about having a totally innovative idea, that breaks with everything established; sometimes the best ideas are usually the simplest and best known, you just have to know when to take advantage of them. This has happened every time a name is in trend, since the most experienced users of the social network are able to foresee these events based on the interaction of Internet users.
For brands this could translate into trends that speak both positively and negatively. A user with a “good eye” will be able to identify when it is time to “ride a trend” to achieve their own goals. Precisely this has happened with the recent controversy of a brand known as Sarelly Sarelly, by Anna Sarelly.
After a complaint from a designer, the brand was exhibited because, allegedly, they plagiarized the concept previously sent by the user. Samantha, the graphic designer, said that a while ago, the company was looking to add staff for graphic design, so she was interested and applied. She says that during the selection process, the company asked her to send some of her work, however, in the end she was not hired. However, the designer noticed after some time that her concept had been used by the company for a campaign.
Joined in this discussion one of the company’s graphic designers, who assured her that it was not plagiarism and that the collage technique was also used by her. After this, the user decided to change the option of her account, from public to private, to avoid “fighting with the brand”.
Entrepreneurs jump on the Sarelly trend and advertise their businesses
However, what for Anna Sarelly is bad publicity, for other small entrepreneurs turned out to be a great opportunity to advertise their products. The remarkable thing about this impulse lies in the theme, since this type of “ads” do not always work, nor are they always announced in the best way. It is not the same to use a tweet about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia to advertise clothes, nor to “hang on” to a trend about the new AIFA when talking about beauty products. It is clear that, although the issues seem to have nothing to do with each other, they could fit depending on the approach, however, it is much more complicated.
Some users even talked about this as “the only positive thing about plagiarism”:
“The great thing about Anna Sarelly being a trend is that if you go to see the gossip, you can discover many brands of Mexican bags that are being announced as a result of that,” commented a user.
Therefore, I present some of the Tweets shared by entrepreneurs about their businesses:
