The worker uploaded a new video saying that their working relationship was good and that he even had the consent of his bosses to record tiktoks.
Although the employee initially believed it was a joke, his superior made it clear that he would not tolerate such behavior during working hours.
No person is exempt from suffering an accident or becoming ill, which is why it is increasingly important for companies and their respective head of Human Resources to put the magnifying glass on the quality of life and the right to health of their collaborators, registering and validating the disability certificates of each employee who requires it.
Disability is a resource established in the Federal Labor Law that protects, at least in Mexico, all workers in the private sector entitled to the Mexican Social Security Institute. (IMSS) and those in the public sector registered with the Social Security and Health Institute for State Workers (ISSSTE).
And although companies are obliged to comply with the requirement, It is these health institutions that define whether the employee really has to go through a recovery process at home. that prevents them from working temporarily.
In fact, in the second week of 2022 alone, nearly 92,000 workers had begun their registration for temporary work disability, which means 460 percent more than in 2021, with the highest peak of the pandemic. These figures generate for the director of Economic and Social Benefits of the IMSS an estimate of 1.5 million Mexicans asserting their right to health for the first half of the year, which represents an institutional expense of 1,215 million pesos.
Employee wanted to cause disability and boss catches him on TikTok
Although TikTok has become one of the most important social networks of our time, used to entertain mainly with music trends, jokes or “history times”, it has also become a source of opinion where many express their feelings about life and with your work.
This is how some areas of Human Resources have turned to the Chinese social network to learn a little more about the personality and thoughts of their candidates and bosses have misused this platform to spy on their employees, resulting in many discovering them talking bad brand, teaching tips of his trade, evidencing his low productivity, doing double work or, in this case, causing injuries to be able to request a disability.
“When you burn yourself on purpose so that they send you home”, reads the post by @ianenderlugo, who showed in a short video how he burns himself with the grill while he’s cooking and then starts dancing.

The video could appear to be innocent, but the problem for the cook came when his boss saw his TikTok and let him know his disagreement through a WhatsApp message.
According to another video posted on the same social network account, the young man was suspended for three days for recording the first video. Although the employee initially believed it was a joke, his superior made it clear that he would not tolerate such behavior during working hours.
“The things that one finds. We were talking about this fact, you are a good worker and we are surprised by what happened. You will be suspended 3 days from tomorrow (…) We fully trust our staff, but these behaviors are not to be carried out during working hours“, can be read in the message.

The video already accumulates more than 4 million reproductions and has caused outrage among social network users, dividing opinions on the type of consideration that companies should have with employees, the use of platforms and the privacy of data and personal accounts. Among the comments there were even those who offered him a job:
“A smart boss tells you to make more tiktoks by advertising the place. That is why the one who does not understand the networks is left in oblivion”, Abi_Gu_designer
Later, after the story went viral, the worker uploaded a new video saying that their employment relationship was good and that he even had the consent of his bosses to record tiktoks, that he appreciated the support of all Internet users, but that he had already been able to resolve differences with the company… but few believed him.
“The power of the networks has become so great that now it even generates fear in businessmen”, johnwar
“hahaha I think he was forced to make this video”, cocoanailssv
