In the Caribbean, according to a note from the DPL News portal, the Puerto Rico Blockchain Trade Association (PRBTA), announced a collaboration agreement with the Blockchain Ignition Laboratory + Puerto Rico 5G Zone (PR5GZ) to jointly promote the deployment of advanced capacity network and testbed lab portals facilitated by PR5GZ with the intention of continuing to educate about Web 3, Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
In this sense, DPL News reported that Keiko Yoshino, the executive director of the Puerto Rico Blockchain Trade Association commented that since they started CryptoCurious last October to teach blockchain and cryptocurrencies, have been able to impact more than 1,500 people through face-to-face and online eventsTherefore, they hope that through this joint effort, they can continue their mission of educating and helping entrepreneurs and members of the United Retail Center (CUD) to stay “at the forefront of the emerging wave of revolution in the economy.” .
For its part, PR5GZ according to will help attract research opportunities for projects related to telecommunications and blockchain from various sources, including the Federal Government and strategic national partners to use the laboratories in Puerto Rico and generate support for the island as a research center, who will seek and receive Blockchain Association guidance.
Gail Nolan, CEO of PR5GZ, commented on this alliance saying that it makes her optimistic and very satisfied, she also mentioned the role of her organization in the alliance. “We envision partnerships with government, industry and academia to better understand the opportunities this technology represents. The laboratory would be a place where innovation, development, testing and evaluation can be implemented”said.
“Without a secure 5G network and lab environment, both IP and national security are at stake. This partnership with PRBTA can help support the collective capabilities of the Puerto Rico innovation network to potential users by educating and guiding them.”Nolan explained.
