Edelman announced the launch of a new agency focused and specialized in public affairs, Edelman Global Advisory, with which it will seek to help organizations in the midst of today’s complex political and economic context.
This new agency is also completed by the acquisition of Basilinna, a company that has been a partner of Eldeman for many years and is dedicated to strategic consulting.
Specifically, Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) will focus its specialized services in governments, businesses and civil organizations on different issues of the global context. This was mentioned by Mariana Sanz, CEO of Edelman Latin America, in a press release:
“The economic and political implications of geopolitical risks, the growing attention to sustainable actions, the demands for equality and equity, as well as the economic challenges of the post-COVID-19 recovery are realities that have led our clients to request our support in navigating these complex issues. This acquisition will allow our great public affairs team in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Miami to grow even more and expand our specialized services in the region ”.
Headquartered in Washington DC and with offices in some of the world’s most important cities and business centers, such as New York, Brussels, Paris, Ottawa, Dubai, Tokyo, Beijing and, of course, Mexico City, the experts EGA in public affairs have knowledge of each market.
Likewise, the Latin American team, which has a presence in Buenos Aires, Mexico City, São Paulo, Bogotá and Miami, will offer its advisory services for those who want to enter new markets or, failing that, expand their own.
The arrival of Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) will also serve to further strengthen what the Public Affairs team has already achieved in Latin America in recent years, a team made up of more than 30 specialists that has carried out policy programs public, legislative and regulatory monitoring, investigation and prospecting, political diagnosis, crisis management, defense and advocacy of causes, government cooperation strategies, and so on.
As part of this new launch and, consequently, of a new strategy, EGA will be investing 10 million dollars to strengthen its team at key points and, in the same way, to continue its expansion.
Thus, as the new Managing Partner and CEO of EGA, the arrival of Deborah Lehr was announced, who has extensive experience in both the public service, the private sector and civil organizations.
On the other hand, Leigh Wedell, founder and COO of Basilinna, will fill the role of co-COO and Principal Managing Director. Meanwhile, Gurpreet Brar will serve as EGA’s Co-COO and Principal Managing Director.
These three new Edelman Global Advisory acquisitions add 17 years of government service experience; 48 years of specialized advice and 22 years of work in civil organizations, which are the main axes of EGA.
“I am delighted to join the launch of Edelman’s new public affairs agency. EGA will provide tailored solutions and services to help customers, and will continue to promote the team of more than six thousand Edelman employees, “said Deborah Lehr in the same statement.
