The community of players Mortal Kombat 1 has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance issues and visual quality of the Nintendo Switch version. As the game was released on multiple platforms, comparisons between them became inevitable, with the hybrid console version standing out as the one with the “worst visual problems.”
However, the co-creator of the saga, Ed Boon, has assured that these problems will be completely resolved, according to a report from Xataka.
The news emerged during an interview conducted by BBC Newsbeat, where Boon addressed concerns related to the Nintendo Switch version. His statements were forceful: “It would have been ideal for us to have released the version we absolutely wanted. But anything we find a problem with is on our list and will be fixed”.
Boon made it clear that the game will receive an update that will address concerns raised by players.
Complaints from gamers
One of the main complaints from the community centers on the price of the game for Nintendo Switch. Since this version does not reach the level of quality of the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series
In contrast, Mortal Kombat 1 has been widely praised upon its release for next-gen consoles, with a score of 88 on Metacritic, reflecting positive reception from both the community and media.
However, reviews of the video game in its version for Nintendo Switch differ significantly. Nintendo Life gave the game a rating of 4 out of 10, highlighting frame rate issues, resolution drops, performance bugs, and other technical issues that impact the gaming experience.
It is important to note that the Nintendo Switch version was developed by Shiver Entertainment, a different studio than the one responsible for the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which were created by NetherRealm Studios.
