In 2021, 582 million new traders were registered worldwide.
In 2019, 252 million women entrepreneurs were reported worldwide.
In Mexico, there are about 4.4 million micro, small and medium enterprises.
Being an entrepreneur and creating your own business is just a matter of proposing it. It’s the story of an entrepreneurial woman who has gone viral after telling how she earns $39,000 a month just by selling Chanel buttons as jewelry.
The words entrepreneurship and entrepreneur have been widely used throughout the world in recent years, so the figures that accompany it globally are very interesting. It is estimated that only two out of 10 entrepreneurs manage to be successful with a venture.
According to data from markinblog, there are 582 million new traders from all over the planet. According to data from the World Bank and its Ease of Doing Business Index, New Zealand ranks as the number of countries to start new businesses, followed by Singapore, Hong Kong, Denmark and South Korea.
In Mexico, there are around 4.4 million micro, small and medium-sized companies, according to the latest data from the Study on the Demography of Business carried out by the (National Institute of Statistics and Geography) Inegi.
A woman identified as Nicole Tocci has created a lucrative business, which makes her earn 39 thousand dollars a month (a figure equivalent to 780 thousand Mexican pesos).
The woman who has gone viral commented in an interview for the American media that she earns that amount with her secondary job and only works less than 20 hours.
The 45-year-old woman’s jewelry is very peculiar, and she says that she began by converting her buttons from Chanel garments into necklaces and since then her popularity has skyrocketed.
The entrepreneur, who started in 2016, indicates that she opened her online store, which is called One Vintage Button, in the year 2020, after the sales of their jewelry pick up steam.
He also highlights that to start his business, he spent around 40 thousand dollars (800 thousand Mexican pesos) in the purchase of designer items. In his first year, his business generated 90 thousand dollars (one million 800 Mexican pesos), and this year alone he has already earned 351 thousand 900 dollars (around 7 million Mexican pesos).
“Sometimes your intuition is perfect. I started trying out necklaces in my boutique and collecting feedback from high-end clientele. Right away, I knew they were a winner,” she said.
The woman explains her process to turn a simple button into a unique piece of jewelry. She meticulously removes the buttons from her Chanel clothes, polishes them and attaches them like pendants to gold or silver chains, spending six hours a month finding the perfect items to wear.
Clothes can range from $400 to $1,500, and Tocci says he needs 40 to 50 buttons. But his spending goes beyond designer clothes, as he also invests in advertising his store on Instagram to expand his reach and audience.
“We’re in an affluent area, so my clients tend to be trendy, well-educated,” he said.
This entrepreneur is not the only one who surprises the world with a business. Recall the story of a young woman who found a Prada brand worsted bag priced at 28 thousand pesos, and decided to make her own, showing the manufacturing process on her TikTok account.
In conclusion, currently the inventiveness of people seems to have no limits, especially when it comes to recreating products from well-known brands.
