Last Thursday, while University of Sports was focused on what will be their match against Sport Huancayo, the notarial letter that the club received from the Chumpitaz Group was leaked, where they request the payment of 600 thousand dollars as part of the transfer of Piero Quispe to UNAM Pumas. As stated in the document, they are responsible for 40% of the midfielder’s economic rights and therefore they should have received the aforementioned amount when the signing was finalized.
In that sense, Hector ‘Tito’ Chumpitaz talked with Ovation regarding this matter and gave the details of how the negotiation was closed in 2019, when Nelson Cabanillas and Piero Quispe They moved from the academy to the ‘cream’ institution. Specifically in the case of the midfielder who currently plays in Mexican soccer, he stressed that they retain 40% of their economic rights, so they hope to collect the money that corresponds to them.
“In the case of Piero Quispe we have 40% of the economic rights. Almost two years ago, when Jean Ferrari came to administration, he asked me to lower Nelson Cabanillas’ percentage. We are fans of the ‘U’, we have a good relationship with them, the players we have brought have always measured up. The percentage was lowered in the case of Cabanillas, in the case of Quispe they never spoke to me, knowing that he has an agreement with the ‘U’, the payment only has to be made effective”he explained.
Precisely about this, Sport could know that the Chumpitaz Group and academic signed a transfer contract in February 2019 for Piero Quispe. In this they agreed that the distribution of the percentages would be as follows: the ‘U’ would have 100% of the federative and registration rights of the footballer and 60% of the economic rights. Thus, the academy preserved 40% of this last concept in the event of a possible sale of ‘Pierito’ abroad, so that it could benefit.
“We are demanding what should be paid, which is 40%. We have talked but we have not agreed, we have decided to take it to the Chamber and have it resolved there.”added Chumpitaz. In this way, he confirmed that the Resolution and Dispute Chamber of the Peruvian Football Federation will resolve this matter, since both parties have not reached an agreement.
On the other hand, ‘Tito’ He stated that of the million and a half dollars he paid UNAM Pumas for the pass of Piero Quispe, The university student and the soccer player received equal shares, without considering the figure that corresponds to the Chumpitaz Group. “Of the million and a half, we should collect 40% of that amount, but it seems that they have divided 50% for the U’ and another 50% for Piero Quispe, when we knew nothing. They have done it behind our backs”, he noted.
Finally, Chumpitaz stressed that they would like everything to be on good terms, but the conversations with the ‘U’ were fruitless. “The papers are all in order, we wanted to reconcile with the club directly, but we did not agree. Yesterday the communication was already leaked via notarial letter to start the process in the Chamber, it is simply happening that we want compensation to improve the club”, he stated.
