dragon ball has decided to publish some old original images of the series during its beginnings in the eighties. These are unpublished designs that corresponded to the promotion of the series in Japan, which we had never seen in Latin America or the United States.
According to a review on the site MeriStation, these designs were not made by Akira Toriyama, who at that time was focused on developing new stories for the manga. These illustrations are the work of another Japanese mangaka called Gaku Miyao.
In the illustrations they appear Goku, Bulma and Yamcha, who are the first three protagonists of the series. They are also Puar and Oolongtwo very important characters in the first arcs of Dragon Ball.
What stands out about this pair of designs that we are going to present to you below is that Bulma appears with a style that Akira Toriyama never dared to illustrate. All the outfits that the now director of the Capsule Corporation comes out with are unprecedented for any fan who has seen the series from the beginning to the current adventures.
Goku does not usually change much, since in addition to his traditional red suit, the one given to him by Master Roshi, he also appears in his little blue suit with a hat, with which he arrives at the first Martial Arts Tournament.
Bulma comes out with a housewife’s outfit, another as an artist or painter, a schoolgirl from the schools of Japan, and another as a university student. Yamcha, in the only frame she appears in, is dressed in a suit. While Oolong and Puar are in their traditional appearances.
