For this reason, Depor Data presents you with five young soccer players of Peruvian blood who could become the goal cards of the national team. These talented players, born between 2004 and 2006, have demonstrated their quality and potential in European clubs, highlighting their desire and commitment to represent the Peruvian team. They have become the new generation that dreams of carrying the colors of the ‘Blanquirroja’ high and leaving their mark on Peruvian football.
Colin McGinnity (2004)
Colin McGinnity stands out in the lower categories of Schalke 04 in Germany. He was born in the United States in 2004 and has dual nationality, since his father is Peruvian and his mother is American. At just 17 years old, Colin has played as a striker for Schalke 04 U-18s, as part of the prestigious International Soccer Academy.
During the 2022 season, Colin McGinnity played a total of 19 games, scoring three goals and providing one assist. He is an attacker who combines speed, technique and a great vision of the game, which allows him to unbalance rival defenses with ease.
McGinnity’s performance has not gone unnoticed at La Videna, where they have already shown interest in contacting him. The young player even had the opportunity to visit Peru last year during his vacation, where he conducted training sessions with Christian Cueva’s well-known physical trainer, José Neyra.
Patrick Askengren (2005)
Currently, he is part of the Kjelsås U-19 team in Norway, where in the 2022 campaign he signed 17 goals in just 12 games played. Although he was born in Norway and has Norwegian ancestry through his father, Patrick has a special bond with Peru thanks to his Peruvian mother. As a result, he possesses Peruvian documents and has expressed enthusiasm for the possibility of representing Peru internationally.
The young attacker born in 2005, eligible to play for Peru and Norway, has drawn attention with his impressive statistics in each of the Norwegian football youth categories. There is still no news about any contact between him and the FPF. What is known is that several important clubs in Norway already have him in their sights for the following season.

Alberto Velasquez (2008)
Born in Finland, Alberto is the son of a Peruvian father and a Finnish mother, which gives him the possibility of being called by both countries, something that has already happened. He has had the opportunity to demonstrate his quality as a scorer, having previously been called up by the Finnish Under-15 team to play friendlies against Wales, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Croatia. However, his international adventure does not stop there, since he will soon have the opportunity to wear the shirt of the Peruvian Under-15 team.
Alberto Velásquez is part of the Helsinki Under-15 team. At this competitive level, he has been awarded multiple recognitions that highlight his talent and contribution to the team: team MVP, goalscorer of the year, player of the tournament and was part of the All Star Player.
Fernando Pelaez (2006)
He is a young striker with Peruvian and Paraguayan roots who wears the colors of AC Ajaccio Sub-17 in France. He arrived at said club in May 2022, which marked an important step in his development as a footballer. Since his arrival, the French team has not been out of place and he has been used regularly during his first season.
The category 2006 attacker has captured the attention of the Peruvian Football Federation. However, in order for Peláez to receive his first call, it is necessary for him to regularize his documentary situation. Currently, the soccer player does not have the papers in order that would allow him to be part of the Peruvian National Team. It is expected that in the short term he will be able to initiate the corresponding procedures and obtain the necessary documents to be summoned.
Cesar Munoz Arevalo (2004)
He lived in Peru until he was 13 years old, which is why he has Peruvian documents. He trained at Sportig Cristal before leaving for Spain. These days he is part of CE Ferreries, which disputes the National Youth League of Spain. The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has shown interest in the young striker and has established contact with his father to start a follow-up process.
As a striker, César stands out for his ability to get involved in generating attacks. He often drops back a few yards to receive the ball and help set up offensive plays. In addition, he has an excellent eye for goals and shows determination to finish plays with precision.
