- In this 2022 edition, 10 winners were recognized in five categories.

Doctors have been clear about the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on childhood vaccination coverage They have been quite serious. In the country barely 30% of children between 1 and 2 years of age have completed their vaccination schedule. In addition to this, more than 500 thousand suspected cases of interseasonal influenza were reported in Mexico from May to September 2022, of which more than 85% were confirmed and unfortunately 25 people died from this cause.
Against this background, in order to reinforce the importance of vaccination at all stages of life, Sanofi awarded the award for the eighth consecutive year “Vaccinate to give opportunities”. It is aimed at doctors, organizations and people who promote initiatives, actions and information on initiatives aimed at developing the field of vaccination in Mexico.
“Taking care of health is one of the most important goals for everyone and today we recognize that vaccination is key to preventing diseases that can be deadly. At Sanofi we are committed to the health of Mexicans, which is why we guarantee the full supply of influenza and hexavalent vaccines required by the Mexican government,” said André Soresini, General Director of Sanofi Vacunas México.
Below we present you who won in each of the categories in the 2022 edition. All of them received a diploma that will be taught by the Universidad Iberoamericana to strengthen their communication skills in medical information.
Career Achievement Award
It recognizes those people dedicated to health, whose work in the area of vaccination has contributed to generating and implementing solutions for the main challenges in the matter, strengthening the National Vaccination System for the benefit of the Mexican population with their work:

· Second place: Lic. Sandra Alarcón Suárez
Best Practices Award
Recognizes those individuals or private, public or social, Mexican and non-profit institutions, which have implemented operational solutions in terms of access to vaccination or in the areas of prevention and combat of preventable diseases through immunization , which have been reflected in tangible results to address the various barriers that vaccination still faces:
· First place: Lic. Fabiola María Carrasco Lara, Dr. José Jesús Alejo Hernández and Lic. Lorena de la Cruz Hernández with the work “Vaccination in the indigenous area YOKOT’AN (Tabasco)”
· Second place: Dr. Ricardo García Gaeta and Lic. Cristina Reynoso Bautista with the work “The vaccination route”
Information Dissemination Award
Recognizes those individuals or private, public or social, Mexican and non-profit institutions, which have carried out work to disseminate information on the importance of vaccination; on the right to vaccination; on the relevance of timely vaccination and, in general, on vaccination issues with the aim of generating knowledge among the population. This award has three subcategories:

· First place: Lic. Blanca Valadez with the work “Váyanse”: in Chiapas, they accuse threats for promoting the anticovid vaccine to residents.
· Second place: Lic. Claudia Ireland Maya with the work “Follow-up of vaccination during the pandemic”.

· First place: Lic. Berenice Muñoz Cordero for the Facebook of the Mexican Association of Vaccinology.
· Second place: Dr. Alfredo Moreno Olmedo for the infographics Importance of Vaccination.

The winners were selected by a committee made up of experts in the public and private sectors from the medical fields of public health and vaccination, academics, technological development and communication.
Vaccination is considered a positive and effective practice for disease prevention and a key element in preventive medicine.
