In which cases are no penalties charged?
The Profeco warns that in the following cases penalties should not be charged for early cancellation:
- Supplier Default
- If you do not install the service in a timely manner
- If they changed your contract without your consent
- At the end of your mandatory term contract
If for any reason or other you will cancel your contract with the internet service company, there is a possibility that you will have to pay a fine or extra amount. For this, Profeco advises the following:
- Notify your provider ahead of time
- Check that you do not have outstanding debts, and if you do, settle them before canceling
- Cover the total cost, in the event that the contract is for a service in installments
