The last chapter of the second part of the final season of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) resolved some questions that had been raised throughout these episodes. One that had been dragging on since the first season it was the source of the headaches of Mikasa Ackerman, the powerful titan slayer and finally we have the answer.
As we know, Hajime Isayama, the author of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), had part of the plot prepared from the beginning and some images led us to predict the future of the series, as happened with the ability of Eren Jaeger from looking into the future. For this very reason, it resonated so much when Eren told Mikasa the reason for his pain: “The Ackermans were created as tools to serve the royal family. When you awakened your powers, the Mikasa of that day died.”
According to these words, her headaches were due to the control he exerted over her, sometimes against her will.. This explained his devotion to Eren, to the point of attacking Armin to keep him safe. Even with tears in her eyes, Mikasa couldn’t believe that was the truth. In Eren’s eyes, the Mikasa he knew died long ago, and the person in front of him was Ackerman’s tool.
However, the last chapter of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) completely debunks the current villain of the series. According to what Eren himself said, everything he said was a fabrication to get Mikasa and Armin away from him, and the order to “fight” came long before he himself became a changeling titan.. Furthermore, neither Levi nor Kenny showed any signs of such devotion. Mikasa’s family tree also lends credence to the idea that Eren was, in fact, lying. Or, failing that, use incomplete information and draw an incorrect conclusion.
The origin of the Ackerman family and Ymir’s control over Mikasa in Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
The Ackerman family was once part of Eldia, the island on which most of the series takes place, and was the accidental result of various experiments with. the Titans. But, instead of becoming an attack titan like Eren, Annie, and other shapeshifters do, the Ackerman clan has taken on the power of a titan while remaining in their human form. This trait was passed down through the Ackerman bloodline and helps explain why characters like Levi Ackerman can pull off the crazy stunts that he can.
These kinds of experimentations also culminated in immunity to the Founding Titan, further disproving Eren’s theory. Eren admitted to Armin in “The Paths” where the entire Eldian race meets that most of what he said was false and he was trying to get them away from him, in order to protect them from what was coming.
So what is the truth behind Mikasa Ackerman’s headaches? There are many theories and questions floating around the internet. Many fans of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) they believe that the origin of the headaches of this war is due to a childhood trauma. It is well known that simple migraines are triggered by pre-existing conditions that arise whenever a scenario comes up or you come across a traumatic scene that reminds you of that spooky night.
Another theory is that her headaches are Ymir, the first titan in history trying to control Mikasa Ackerman throughout Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), and the pain is a result of her immunity colliding with the Titans. attempts at orders from its founding titan. This explanation seems the most likely and viable, given Hajime Isayama’s narrative style. However, there is one point of fact that still needs to be explained. According to a page in chapter 139, Mikasa stated that his headaches were due to Ymir trying to look inside his head. Instead of an attempt at control, it was likely that Ymir was just trying to see through Mikasa’s eyes..
