The miDGT App allows you to carry out multiple procedures from your mobile phone. From paying fines to receiving notifications, modifying personal data or consulting information related to traffic.
Mobile devices have become an almost indispensable tool in our daily lives and, aware of this, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) In 2020, it launched an application with which to facilitate the procedures related to said body for users.
Initially, it was launched with some functionalities, but over time it has been gaining possibilities and the latest update has incorporated some of the most relevant.
What can I do with the miDGT App
There are many functionalities to which we have access through the miDGT App, which we can find for both Android and Apple devices.
The driver’s license, on your mobile
One of the most interesting functions is that the application includes the user’s personal documentation, as well as the points of the card, so it is not necessary to carry the physical documentation with you.

Said digital documentation is legally valid and, in case of being stopped by a traffic agent, this will verify its authenticity through a QR code. In any case, the DGT always recommends that you take the physical documentation in case we cannot access the mobile or travel abroad.
all about the car
The same happens with the documentation and information related to the vehicles registered in our name. In the miDGT App we can consult the circulation permit and technical data, among others:
- General data of the vehicle (brand, model, frame, cylinder capacity, etc.).
- environmental label.
- Data from the last ITV.
- Insurance company current and dates of coverage.
- Holder data vehicle.
- tax municipality where the vehicle is domiciled.
- regular driverin the case of having communicated it to Traffic.
It is also possible to notify if a vehicle is regularly driven by another person -something very useful in the event of a fine or accident-, as well as get a vehicle report to know its status or in case of possible sale.
Manage and pay fines
Other features that users were looking forward to was the ability to pay fines from the miDGT application.
With the latest update this is now possible and it is one more option to add to those previously incorporated to manage and consult the fines. It is even possible identify the driver who was using your vehicle at the time of the offence.
Update personal data and other procedures
With the miDGT App it is also possible to update personal data in case of address change or any other circumstance. Procedure that previously forced us to go to a traffic delegation to report the new data. In addition, we can consult and/or modify:
- Notification address.
- Telephone contact.
- Email.
It is also possible to buy fees for carrying out a procedure or even check the authenticity of messages received by email on behalf of the DGT, an activity that many scammers have become accustomed to doing in recent times.
Consult the results of the exams and make an appointment
Another of the new features that we can access from the DGT application is the consultation of the results of the exams that we have taken.
