Dani Juncadella ended his bad start to the season at the Nürburgring. Overcome his injury and the problems that had affected the Mercedes-AMG GT3 of GruppeM Racing, as well as some inconveniences in the pit stops, the Spanish driver once again showed his great talent in the DTM. In fact, Juncadella got his first podium in the championship under GT3 regulations by finishing second in the second race of the fourth event of the season at the Nürburgring. A result that feeds the Catalan when facing the second half of the year, even if the fight for the title seems already inaccessible.
In fact, Juncadella sets short-term goals and the first is to get back on the podium at the Red Bull Ring. The Austrian track is one of Dani’s favorites and he has fond memories of this track after winning there three years ago: «I face the fifth event of the DTM with a lot of motivation because the Red Bull Ring is a circuit of which I have very good memories. The track is spectacular and, in addition, it has several fast corners. It is a fact that I love it and it favors my riding. It’s been three years since I last raced at the Red Bull Ring and managed to win. I live this test with even more enthusiasm».
In fact, Dani reaffirms his speech when setting short-term goals at the controls of his GT3 vehicles: «The objective that we all within the team have is to continue the dynamics of the last weekend at the Nürburgring in this new appointment. In Germany we took a big step forward in every way, something that allowed us to finish on the podium in the second race. With this precedent, it’s time to continue working the same way we did, fight for the podiums and look for one more point of performance to go for victory ».
