CD Projekt Red continues to try to repair the large number of flaws it has presented Cyberpunk 2077 since its crashed launch. One of the last novelties of the video game was the release of version 1.3 in the course of the last week. The patch brought with it clues that multiplayer mode would not have been completely ruled out.
This was revealed by Tyler McVicker on his YouTube channel (via VGC). In a video published on Saturday, he mentioned some of the traces found in the update executable of Cyberpunk 2077; specifically it stopped at two: one related to expansions, and the other to multiplayer.
The latter is possibly the most attractive, considering the twists and turns of developers in recent years. Recall that CD Projekt Red announced the multiplayer from Cyberpunk 2077 with bass drums and cymbals. In fact, the studio said it intended the online version to be a “triple A” pitch on its own. However, the project was decommissioned last March, when the Polish company announced changes to its strategy for developing games.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ would have a multiplayer mode
As McVicker explains, when examining the executable of version 1.3 of the game they appear different tests and build states of the new multiplayer; they are found under the name “MultiplayerGyms“In addition, the analyst has come across traces of another multiplayer modality with the reference”old“(old, in English), which would correspond to the previous project to create an online game mode.
Logically, the data related to the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077 remain speculative. In any case, VGC It also indicates that last January they had already found clues of two possible multiplayer modes that would reach this title. It was even mentioned that the same would depend on P2P connections, instead of dedicated servers.
It is still very difficult to know when and in what way a multiplayer alternative will be enabled in Cyberpunk 2077. However, if the findings through data mining are correct, everything would indicate that the Polish developers they wouldn’t have given up on the idea entirely after all.
