The couple formed by Don Alberto Andrade and Mrs. Dolores Contreras founded Cremería Americana in 1905 in Mexico City, one of the first companies to introduce pasteurization in Mexico. They would never imagine that in seven decades their company would become a foundation that changes lives.
The business, with the passage of time, consolidated and in 1924 Gloria butter was launched on the market. Almost 40 years would pass, until in the 60s, this product became a sales leader. However, in 1952, Don Alberto died, leaving the fate of the prosperous company in the hands of his widow, Mrs. Dolores.
Patron of a foundation that changes lives
Doña Dolores, born in 1898, was characterized by her willingness to help others. Having no children, she sought that, after her death, Your company could have a positive impact on your community.
Thus, in the last years of his life, he provided in his will for the constitution of the Alberto and Dolores Andrade Private Assistance Foundation, which, with the profits of the business, would provide help to Mexican children through a better education.
Finally, in 1976, Mrs. Andrade died and her foundation became a reality.
Mexican products with a cause
Currently Cremería Americana has more than 150 products distributed throughout the country and employs just over 800 people.
But the most important thing is that it provides monthly financial support to more than a thousand scholarship recipients, of all school levels, both in public and private institutions.
In 2018, the foundation celebrated 40 years of investing in Mexican education together with its former scholarship recipients.
