Craig Breen is already an M-Sport driver. Just hours after taking part in his last rally with Hyundai and taking the podium in Finland, the Irish driver traveled to the Cumbrian coach’s facilities to sign his new contract. With a rubric next to your new boss, Breen has signed his bond with M-Sport for the next two seasons, thus being one of the spearheads of the hybrid project of the structure linked to Ford in the WRC. For weeks now and with permission from Hyundai to do so, Breen and his co-driver Paul Nagle already had the opportunity to test the new Ford Fiesta Rally1.
the Irish Craig breen lands at M-Sport after having part-time programs at Hyundai for the last three seasons. With everything, Breen has achieved four podiums in his nine rallies with the South Korean firm. Now, the 31-year-old rider starts a new stage: «I’ve worked to get a full-time seat in the WRC since I was very little, so this opportunity could not be turned down. It is sad not to be able to continue with Hyundai, but it has been an incredible story. I came from nowhere, competing in the Irish regional to get back into the WRC. Hyundai was a lifesaver and now our work is worth to be here and sign for M-Sport».
For its part, Malcolm wilson as head of M-Sport has indicated: «I know and have followed all of Craig’s progress for over a decade. His father was an M-Sport customer and I have watched Breen grow to where he is now. It has been developed in several M-Sport cars and at present its performances have not gone unnoticed. Has achieved fantastic results despite having a partial program. We started talking several months ago and I’m really excited about have Breen here to lead our team for two seasons. We have a fantastic car and there is no doubt that Breen and our Ford Puma will achieve great success ”.
