The universe The Witcher does not stop growing. The saga starring Geralt of Rivia has become very popular in recent years thanks to the success of a trilogy of video games and an adaptation on Netflix with Henry Cavill. In fact, it has been announced that this will have a prequel on the streaming platform. However, it all started with the books of the polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, to which many fans of the products that have subsequently been derived from paper are now turning to him for more about this fantasy world. However, the reading order of the saga of The Witcher is the subject of constant debate.
Although the story of The Witcher is published in Spain by the Alamut publishing house in nine volumes that have a certain internal coherenceSapkowski never conceived his work as a saga. The novels, stories and short stories that make it up have been published over more than two decades and the Polish author never had a fixed plan when it came to following the story and its chronology.
Sapkowski simply began writing the adventures of a wizard and monster hunter in a dark and fantastical place called the Continent, where he let the characters come to life through unplanned quests and quests. In this way, he was adjusting his creation on the flywith prequels and new collections of stories that connected and completed previous events and stories.
So the work has a fairly disparate order and there are different ways to get into it. However, the recommended reading order if you want to follow the story chronologically is as follows:
