USCIS will continue to send you notices about your case by mail.
Naturalization 2023: how much does the application cost?
The filing fee is $640, however an additional $85 must be added to the biometric services fee, for a total of $725.
If you file Form N-400 online, you can pay your fee online. If you file your Form N-400 by mail (paper), you can pay the fee by money order, personal check, cashier’s check, or credit card along with Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions . Also, if you pay by check, you must make it payable to the US Department of Homeland Security.
Naturalization 2023: exceptional cases
It is worth mentioning the naturalization process has some exceptions such as:
- Applicants who are 75 years of age or older do not need to pay the biometric data fee. they only need to pay the filing fee of $640.
- Payment of the fee is not required by military applicants filing under Section 328 or 329 of the INA.
