A new report has revealed how much time users spend browsing the internet, one of the most essential tools to face day-to-day life today.
The evolution of the internet has been, perhaps, one of the most important in history; Today, in addition to being a work tool, it has become a vital platform for all industries.
And it is that, more than a luxury, the internet, today, is a necessity, a more than essential work tool for people and their daily activities.
In Mexico, to mention one example, access to the network had significant growth in 2020, the year of the pandemic, since, in said year, a population of 84.1 million Internet users was estimated, this, according to information published by the National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Homes (ENDUTIH) 2020which is carried out by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) and the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT).
That said, on the other hand, it should be noted that, currently, there are just over five billion users connected to the Internet, of which just under 100 million are located in Mexico.
How long do we surf the internet?
Looking ahead to 2025, according to the study Statista Key Market Indicatorsit is estimated that almost 120 million Mexicans will have access to the Internet, smartphones being the main means by which this growth would take place.
Now, in his new report, Digital 2023: Global Overview Report, DataReportal discloses more specific details about Internet users and their habits on the network.
In this sense, in general terms, people allocate six hours and 37 minutes of their day to surf the web, 20 minutes less than the same period of the previous year.
However, although there is talk of a reduction of 20 minutes, it should be noted that, In Mexico, Internet users spend eight hours and seven minutes a day on the Internetplacing itself as the sixth country where people spend more time on the internet.
As shown in the graph above, South Africa is the country that leads the DataReportal ranking, with up to nine hours and 38 minutes a day. They are followed by Brazil, Argentina and Colombia, regions where, in the same way, Internet users surf the web for more than nine hours a day.
