Violence among children has been escalating in recent years.
Christmas is one of the most beautiful times of the year and the most anticipated by many, especially by children. Given this and with the use of social networks, a letter that a child wrote to Santa has gone viral, leaving a great debate in the digital world, since in the text the little boy threatened to kill the iconic man on the sleigh.
Santa Claus is about to arrive and every time the children take more care for the requests they make. According to a study published by According to the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, 85 percent of 4-year-olds said they believed in Santa Claus, a number that decreases as they get older.
On the other hand, 65 percent of the 6-year-olds and 25 percent of the 8-year-olds indicated that they believed in this Christmas figure. However, the researchers maintain that these percentages of children who believe in the jolly Santa Claus appear to have remained stable over the years.
In this sense, a study by the Pew Research Center revealed that almost three quarters of Americans indicated that they normally received visits from Santa Claus when they were children and one in five adults claimed to be the parent or guardian of a boy who believes in the mythical father of Christmas.
The history
Once again, Christmas goes viral on networks. In the case of a boy named Jeremy who went viral on TikTok for a letter in which he criticized Saint Nicholas for not delivering one of the gifts he wanted last Christmas, leaving netizens crying with laughter.
The video, which was published last week, records almost 18 million views, and was titled “Jeremy was NOT playing about his Christmas”.
In the recording, the Internet user begins by reading the letter, which, as is well known by this time, many children in the world left their message to Santa Claus.
“Dear Santa, I am writing this to you the day after Christmas and I am very sad because I only received one of the two gifts I ordered. feel [ya que] You ate my cookies, I’m going to assume [asumir] that my lost gift was a mistake [error]”, the boy wrote before telling him that he had a week to remedy the situation.
Before said letter, Santa responded to the little boy to tell him that Jeremy’s demand was not possible. “Dear Jeremy, I’m sorry you’re disappointed in your gifts. You ordered two very expensive gifts and Santa can’t do much. You need to learn to be thankful for what you have and not upset about what you don’t have. If you continue to complain, I will have no choice but to add you to the naughty list next year. Santa Claus”, replied Santa.

In the recording, which quickly went viral, you can see how Jeremy, however, was not intimidated by Santa’s threatening words.
“Dear Santa, Your threats don’t scare me. I played your game and you didn’t deliver. This is not OK. I’ll give you a week and then you’ll pay. Jeremy,” the boy wrote bravely. “PS: I don’t know why it’s expensive when you have elven slaves that do things for you, I think you’re very naughty for having slaves,” added the little one.
After the boy’s response, the Tiktoker mentions that Santa decided to teach Jeremy a lesson by taking away his Wii U video game.
“Dear Jeremy. You are being a very bad child, because you cannot be happy with what you have. I have spoken to your parents and told them to take the Wii U away from you,” he said. “Now you have nothing. Once you learn to be grateful, maybe you can get it back. I’m disappointed in you Jeremy. You will have to be very good this year if you want to be on the good list again, ”he adds.
Following the strong response he received from Santa, the action angered the boy to the point where he made some threatening comments.
“True Santa Claus. I don’t like that trick you pulled on my parents. You are on my blacklist now. Be afraid that you seem slow and easy to kill. Enjoy your cookies next year because they will be poison. I hope you die, Jeremy ”, reads the little boy’s final response.
Undoubtedly, the very strong words opened a debate on social networks, where most Internet users laughed at the child’s violent response, but some also questioned said behavior.
In this sense, said recording demonstrates the concern and generalization of violence in infants, since various cases have currently been recorded where children generate and are responsible for violent situations both with adults and against other children. According to data from Unicef, half of young people around the world experience violence between peers at school.
“Jeremy didn’t hold back at all,” another user joked in a comment.
“Jeremy woke up and chose violence,” a third person said in the post.
In conclusion, more and more social networks show some realities that perhaps some did not know, opening a focus to these problems to give them a solution.
