On the other hand, as we have seen, businesses that do not have an online sales scheme will have problems to be able to place themselves in the market, so the Senior Vice President of Industrial and Logistics of CBRE Mexico considers that due to the trends in consumption changed, companies will have to implement an e-commerce channel. This trend will continue, at least, in the next 18 months in the main metropolises such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida and Villahermosa, as well as in El Bajío.
According to the Mexican Association for Online Sales (AMVO), in Mexico, e-commerce had a growth of 81% in 2020, compared to 2019, which shows the dominance that this scheme has had in serving customers.
Muñoz mentioned that, although online sales remain at the top, physical stores will not disappear, but the trend is for a hybrid model to be consolidated, in which retail companies work with both strategies to optimize their business.
Finally, Francisco Muñoz commented that CBRE operates in all dimensions of the commercial real estate market, being a strategic ally to guide companies and propose the best options that complement their distribution and online sales scheme.
