It is claimed that the caviar facial treatment provides excellent benefits to rejuvenate the skin of the face. Read on and find out what it is.
A caviar facial? Does that exist? Well yes. In addition to eating it with a cracker or on a piece of bread, it can be used on the face, although not directly. Rather products based on sturgeon roe are applied to the skin of the face.
It is ensured that this caviar facial treatment provides excellent benefits to rejuvenate and regenerate, due to the vitamins and other components present in said food. However, it is an expensive procedure. A luxury.
What is caviar and how is its composition?
With the name of caviar refers to a food that consists of sturgeon roe, a fish endemic to Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. Although there are some substitutes for other fish, such as cod or salmon, the most highly regarded caviar is that of the species known as belugawhich can be caught in the Caspian Sea.
Its cost is high, both because of the demand and because of the scarcity of the product. It is a food that is consumed raw, cured with salt. Its consistency is pasty. It is eaten alone or accompanied with some crackers, a slice of bread, a little cheese, watercress or chives.
Regarding its composition, it is quite high in calories (264 grams per 100 grams), saturated fat (17 g) and particularly in cholesterol, providing almost 600 milligrams. This represents twice the recommended daily value, according to studies on the subject.
It also has its positive contributions in terms of proteins (20%) and fatty acids of the omega 3 type, mainly DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), as well as alpha acid and linoleic acid. In addition, it is rich in alpha hydroxy acids, phospholipids, various amino acids, mineral salts and vitamins A, B2, B6, B12, C, E and F.
What is the caviar facial treatment like?
Do not think that the caviar facial treatment consists of placing this product directly, applying it to the skin, as if we were the slice of bread. Unlike the one used to eat, in the treatment creams, moisturizers and serums are used in which this food is the main componenttaking advantage of its nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Among the most commercialized beauty products with caviar are the following:
- peeling exfoliant.
- Facial mask.
- night cream
- Wrinkle corrector.
- Anti-aging makeup.
- Cream for hands, neck, chest and eye contour.
It is worth noting that some of these products contain hyaluronic acid and even other natural ingredients, such as aloe vera, shea butter and turmeric.
As for its application, as it should be done with many beauty procedures, the skin should be washed and preferably exfoliated. Next, a few drops of the product are placed on the fingertips and spread, giving light touches until you feel that it has been fully absorbed.
In the case of the mask or serum are left on the face for at least 20 minutes. No additional procedure or precaution is required. Likewise, the person can maintain their usual beauty routines without the result being affected.

It is ensured that the caviar facial treatment provides several benefits for the facial skin in the medium term. Among them the following are mentioned:
- It is easily absorbed.
- Fight aging.
- It has antioxidant properties.
- Unifies the tone or color of the skin.
- Helps protect from effects of UVA and UVB rays.
- It stimulates the production of collagen, which gives firmness and elasticity to the skin.
- Maintains the balance between loss and absorption for adequate hydration.
It is claimed that the caviar facial treatment is suitable for all skin types. However, it is recommended in particular for those people who are beginning to show the first signs of aging or who have signs of premature aging.
Is caviar facial treatment effective?
It has been realized studies about procedures using cichlids (for example, tilapia) for tissue regeneration in people who have suffered severe burns. It has been found that the skin of these fish contains type 1 collagen and an adequate degree of moisture to promote efficient and rapid healing.
But until now there are not many works that prove the effectiveness of facial treatment with caviar. among the few research on the subject there is one published in 2021, carried out with 35 women between 35 and 65 years of age, who presented signs of facial photoaging and hyperpigmentation.
These individuals underwent a multimodal facial skin care regimen twice daily for 12 weeks. The use of antioxidants, retinol, hydrolyzed pearl, caviar extract, various peptides and growth factors EGF and TGF-β were included.
At the beginning, at week 6 and at the end of the process, non-invasive evaluations were made (elasticity, corneometry, dermaspectrophotometer). It is ensured that, after treatment, there was an improvement in hyperpigmentation (8% reduction) and in the appearance of photoaged skin in various aspects: smoothness (60%), dryness (82%), fine lines (30%) and Crow’s feet (24%), as well as firmness (16%).
It is appropriate to point out that, in the study reviewed, products based on sturgeon roe were only one of several components within the applied treatment. Therefore, much more research is required regarding the caviar facial before it can be firmly stated that it provides all of its claimed benefits.
