According to the Ministry of Health, During the year 2021, 20 million people face problematic alcohol consumption in Mexico.
The doctor Christian Aguilar has shared a video on his social networks of some of the benefits that the human body has when stopping consuming alcoholic beverages.
The benefits that the doctor gives to Internet users why they should stop drinking alcoholic beverages are: glucose levels normalize, the liver begins to reduce inflammation, the brain begins to reduce inflammation, with which the neural connections begin to work better and lastly, visceral fat begins to reduce.
With this last point, the doctor emphasizes that stopping alcohol consumption allows your body at the renal level to begin to eliminate excess uric acid from your system.

What is drinking alcohol in moderation?
According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, define moderate drinking as 1 drink or less per day for women and 2 drinks or less per day for men. Also, the Dietary Guidelines do not recommend that people who do not drink alcohol start drinking for any reason.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommend that some people should not consume any amount of alcohol, such as:
- People under 21 years of age.
- Women who are pregnant or who could be pregnant.
- People who are driving, planning to drive, or participating in other activities that require dexterity, coordination, and alertness.
- People who are taking prescription or over-the-counter medications that can cause
- Adverse reactions if mixed with alcohol.
- People who have conditions that may be worsened by alcohol consumption.
- People who are recovering from alcoholism.
Advantages and disadvantages of drinking alcoholic beverages in moderation
According to the Mayo Clinic, moderate alcohol consumption can provide some health benefits, such as:
- Reduce your risk of getting heart disease and dying from it.
- Possibly reduce the risk of ischemic stroke.
- Possibly reduce the risk of diabetes.
However, eating a healthy diet and being physically active have many more health benefits and have been studied the most extensively.
