The world of health has become a priority for many companies. Such is the case of Bupa México, focused on the Medical Expense Insurance category, because it has now announced the acquisition of Bité Medical Hospital, located in Santa Fe in Mexico City. This movement is part of the British company’s plan to strengthen the services it offers in our country.
The expansion of services began in 2020 with the Launch of national coverage insurance. While it was consolidated with the incorporation of Vitamédica in 2021, one of the largest networks of medical providers in the country.
Total cost of the transaction
Based on official information, the total investment for the purchase, renovation, digitalization and expansion of the Bité Médica hospital will be more than 350 million pesos in total.
“Incorporating the Bité Médica hospital into the Bupa group allows us to complement in a very robust way the offer that we already offer today. Hand in hand with our allies, we focus, and will continue to do so, on providing a service of innovation, medical digitalization and healthcare excellence to our clients, policyholders and business partners. Bité Médica will continue to be open to serve the general public, now with the support of Bupa”, declared Fernando Lledó, general director of Mexico.
With this incorporation, Bupa seeks to expand the care offer for policyholders and improve collaboration with the rest of the hospitals, in order to provide the best possible medical care.
Likewise, Bupa wants to make Bité Médica a benchmark hospital in quality for patients. It plans to do so through technology, innovation, digitization and sustainability, setting high standards in the health care of its patients and including, among others, the dental office service.
The latter is especially relevant because it is a service that is already offered in other countries where Bupa is present. Dental insurance is already offered in Australia, the UK, Spain, Chile and Brazil, and there are more than 1,000 Bupa-owned dental centers around the world.
“We are committed to growth and innovation in Mexico to offer comprehensive health. Bupa is a very active and innovative company that will not stop generating health and offering a value proposition for today’s consumer”.
About the acquisition, The “Bité” brand will be retained in the hospital, given its recognition and reputation in the industry. In addition, other companies and partners with which the hospital currently works will remain, which will strengthen the strategic alliances of Bupa and Bité, as a brand and add to the market in a positive way.
“We seek to generate complementarity in health services, alliances and teamwork with other participants. This decision adds to the private health sector in Mexico and benefits patients. Ultimately, it is about consolidating our way of working in the world based on our purpose: to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives, and create a better world.”
