The Inguarán Maternal and Child Hospital of the Ministry of Health (Sedesa) celebrates 32 years of serving the population. So far in 2022, 3,328 deliveries have been attended, in addition, 13,919 consultations have been granted in the emergency area.
Lucía Aguirre Antonio, director of the hospital, commented that, from January to October of this year, 2,325 births were by natural birth and 1,033 by cesarean section; There is also a record of 4,896 hospital discharges of patients.
“The hospital works hard so that women have a healthy delivery and actions are carried out to prevent pregnancy in women under 19 years of age, as well as to reduce sexually transmitted diseases,” he said.
He also highlighted that the hospital has the services of: Outpatient Gynecology-Obstetrics, Laboratories, Emergencies, Tocosurgical Unit and Operating Rooms, Colposcopy, Dietology, Social Work, Clinic for Adolescence, Hospitalization, Family Planning and Post Obstetric Event Care, among others. .
The head of the Inguarán Maternal and Child Hospital highlighted that 18 Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (IVE) consultations have been attended, as well as 844 services in the Legal Interruption of Pregnancy (ILE) area,
“Family planning talks are given, where women are taught contraceptive methods and products that seek to avoid an unwanted pregnancy,” he said.
Dr. Lucía Aguirre reported that 108 specialized doctors and 231 nurses work daily in the hospital who are on the lookout for the women who arrive from various City Halls of Mexico City, as well as from the municipalities of the State of Mexico: Ecatepec, Tecámac, Tlalnepantla and Nezahualcoyotl. The hospital unit has 71 census beds and 45 non-census beds.
This medical unit was inaugurated on July 20, 1963 as a Pediatric Hospital, but on November 19, 1990 it changed to be a Maternal and Child Hospital in Mexico City.
