Unfortunately, the state of health of Bruce Willis it keeps getting worse. The actor, one of the most acclaimed in action cinema, was diagnosed in 2022 with aphasia, one of the multiple disorders derived from frontotemporal dementia. The situation, in fact, forced him to retire from cinema. While his close circle has been secretive, Glenn Gordon Carona friend of Willis and one of the closest people throughout his career, shared some details.
In an interview with New York Postthe also creator of Moonlighting revealed that Bruce Willis has lost the ability to communicate verbally.
“He is still Bruce, even though his condition has worsened to the point where he is no longer able to communicate verbally. I have tried in every way to remain in his life. He is an extraordinary person.”
Glenn Gordon Caron.
Gordon deeply regrets what happened to Bruce Willis. He mentioned that the actor always expressed his joy for life and spread it to those around him. Sadly, frontotemporal dementia turned off that characteristic part of him.
“What makes his illness so mind-blowing is that if you ever spent time with Bruce, there is no one who had more joy in life than him. He loved life and he loved getting up every morning and trying to live it to the fullest. So the idea “That he now sees life through a screen door makes very little sense. He really is an incredible guy.”
Glenn Gordon Caron.
The producer also revealed that he thinks Bruce Willis no longer recognizes him when you have had the opportunity to visit it. “My feeling is that in the first one or three minutes he knows who I am. He’s not fully verbal; I used to be a voracious reader, I wanted no one to know, and now I don’t read. He doesn’t have all those language skills anymore, and yet, “He’s still Bruce. When you’re with him you know he’s Bruce and you’re grateful he’s there… but the joy of life has disappeared.”
Without a doubt, Bruce Willis’ diagnosis became one of the most unfortunate news in the world of entertainment during 2022. Bruce Willis is a leading actor and a pop culture icon. The last film in which he appeared was Detective Knight: Redemptionreleased the previous year.
The film will go down in history, but not because of its narrative proposal, but because it will always be remembered as Bruce Willis’s farewell to a successful acting career. Because frontotemporal dementia worsens over time, the next news about the actor will not be encouraging at all.
