Sony just made a bomb transfer official after announcing the purchase of Bluepoint Games, the new studio that has just joined the ranks of PlayStation Studios, as Housemarque did for example this summer.
The truth is the relationship between both companies is quite good and it’s no wonder something like this happened. His latest work includes the remakes of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus, as well as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, the remastering of the original trilogy of the Naughty Dog saga.
In this way, he has made it very clear how well he is at creating new versions of video games. That same Sony has taken into consideration when stating that the study is world and character development expert and that will prove to be a huge advantage for future PlayStation Studios properties.
The President of Bluepoint Games, Marco Thrush, did not want to miss the opportunity to make a statement to show his enthusiasm for this great news for his team:
We are delighted to have officially joined PlayStation Studios!
Austin, Texas has been Bluepoint’s home base since we founded the studio in 2006 and we are now about 70 super talented and growing creatives. While the studio has certainly grown larger and larger over the past 15 years, our cultural beliefs have remained the same: always go the extra mile and create the highest quality games possible while having fun making them. Focus has been critical to our success and we are happy that PlayStation Studios share a similar culture and vision.
PlayStation has such an iconic game catalog that for us there has been nothing better than bringing some of its masterpieces to new players. Being part of PlayStation Studios allows our team to raise the bar even further and create more impactful experiences for the PlayStation community.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout these years. We can’t wait to bring you more amazing games in this new chapter of Bluepoint Games!
To get a start on what we can expect, Thrush himself has declared to the IGN portal that Bluepoint Games’ next project will be original content, but he has not been able to advance any more details, so for the moment it will be time to keep waiting until he finds out what he is up to.
For his part, Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, has indicated to the American portal that does not close the doors to the fact of looking for more studies to join the group. However, what is clear is that they must be companies that share the same values and can expand what is offered to PlayStation players.
