The rise of Artificial intelligence may have some concerned like Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak, but others are very, very happy. This is the case of Bill Gates: the tycoon won 2 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2023, thanks to his actions in Microsoft, promoter of ChatGPT.
Microsoft invested in 2019 billion dollars in OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, also making Azure its exclusive provider of cloud services. Practically the company founded by Bill Gates improved the conditions for the expansion of the Artificial Intelligence chatbot.
Since then, OpenAI has released GPT–3.5 to GPT-4, a more up-to-date version, coming very close to human performance in certain circumstances.

Leading the text-generative Artificial Intelligence sector, the relationship between Microsoft and OpenAI is a win-win. And for Bill Gates, one more reason for economic (and technological, of course) satisfaction.
Gates stated this year that Artificial Intelligence is the “most important technological advance since the graphical user interface”, in which he had special significance. “It is as fundamental as the creation of the microprocessor, the personal computer, the Internet and the mobile phone.”
“It will change the way people work, learn, travel, receive health care and communicate with each other. Whole industries will reorient themselves around it. Companies will be distinguished by how well they use it.” Gates stressed in a post on his blog.
The economic value of AI for Microsoft
Returning to the economic issue, Bill Gates has only 1% of the shares of Microsoft, but these represent 103 million shares.
This Friday each one was worth 307.39 dollars, experiencing a sustained rise in recent weeks.
In accordance with Business Insider, In the company’s quarterly results presentation, Microsoft named the role of Artificial Intelligence and ChatGPT’s leadership in the market up to 50 times. So this party doesn’t stop, and Bill Gates keeps billing.
