If you’re into competitive gaming, you’ll know that screen Hz is essential when you’re in the big leagues of esports. The more, the merrier, and this is a lesson that ASUS and Alienware take very seriously in their latest monitors. During the CES 2023both companies have introduced the first 500 Hz monitorssome authentic beasts of 24.5 inches and compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync and Reflex.
Both the Alienware 500 Hz Gaming Monitor and the Asus ROG Swift Pro have broken the Hz record. So far, most competitive monitors could top out at 360 Hz, a real bestiality, to be honest. However, your game can be even more fluid thanks to the technologies included in both proposals.
Of course, do not expect a great resolution on these screens. Asus and Alienware hit 1080p highs on their monitors, so you will not have an ultra-clear image. However, both monitors make up for it with their 500Hz refresh rate, and support for Nvidia, Reflex, and G-Sync technologies.
Asus and Alienware 500Hz monitors will soon be available for the most demanding gamers
Although many say that there is no real difference beyond 60 Hz, the truth is that there is. Of course, do not expect a dramatic jump. Nvidia has released a video demonstrating the differences between multiple monitors with different refresh rates, and if you’re a competitive gamer, you’ll probably notice the change.
However, the jump from 360 Hz to 500 Hz on monitors probably won’t be as noticeable as if we had a base 60 Hz. But it is an advance in this sector, and it will lead to future monitors with even higher refresh rates. Plus, thanks to Nvidia’s Reflex and G-Sync, you can expect near-zero latency, and great coordination between the image and your controller.
Nvidia, for its part, It has been one of those that has taken advantage of this CES 2023 to reveal all its news. From the arrival of GeForce Now in cars, to the jump of said service to the RTX 4080 to offer “5 times more power” than an Xbox Series X. The technical advance of the gaming this year seems to be picking up a lot more strength than in previous times, especially considering the component shortages we have faced since 2020.
At the moment, Alienware has not shared much information regarding its 500 Hz Gaming Monitor, although we know that it will land sometime this quarter. Asus, for its part, has revealed that its ROG Swift Pro PG24QP will retail for US$900, and will be released in the spring of this year.
