Although the first games of Assassin’s Creed They were experiences that you could complete between 20 and 50 hours, the most recent installments ask you to invest more than 100 hours to see everything that Ubisoft offers us. However, it seems that this practice has come to an end, as future titles in the series will experiment with this particular element.
During the past Ubisoft Forward was officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will cost $50 dollars, a price that reflects the scale of the experience. In an interview with IGN, Marc-Alexis Côté, executive producer of this installment, revealed that future games in the series will no longer be 150 hours long, starting with this new installment. This is what he commented on it:
“It’s a smaller Assassin’s Creed project. This was conceived [y] built to celebrate the 15th anniversary. That’s why we’re using our modern Valhalla engine to create a smaller game that pays homage to our original game, focusing more on stealth, melee, parkour, and a denser city that harkens back to our roots in the Middle East with Baghdad as its centerpiece”.
This is a philosophy that Ubisoft will continue with Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This platform will give us the opportunity to enjoy different experiences. In this regard, it has been mentioned that Codename Networkwhich will take us to Japan, will be an installment aligned with the latest games in the series, while Codename Hexe It won’t even be an RPG. This was what Côté mentioned:
“I think this Infinity approach also allows us to have different experiences of different sizes. Not everything has to be a 150-hour RPG, right?
Sometimes you’ll also have free experiences, which I think is a great way to entice players to come back. We had a great experience with the latest Assassin’s Creed Odyssey crossover stories. It brought many players back to Odyssey. It got a lot of players who were interested in Odyssey interested in Valhalla, because we had seen a lot of players who didn’t go from Odyssey to Valhalla, and it piqued their interest and moved them to another product and all of that for free. So I think this will be the most important thing in [nuestra] mind as we build Infinity”
With Mirage planned for the following year, and Codename Network without a release date, It remains to be seen how Ubisoft will handle the future of Assassin’s Creed when it comes to length. and the additional content that each installment will have for us.

Editor’s note:
Although it’s always fun to explore and collect all the extras in an Assassin’s Creed game, it’s also true that playing the same title for more than 100 hours can be tiring. I hope that Mirage and future installments manage to find a middle ground between the wishes of the fans and the intentions of the developers in this section.
