Counterfeit sneakers are a headache for big companies, like Nike, Adidas and Puma, but also for shoe resale companies, which are very popular in the United States. To avoid this type of problem, a company, Entrupy, created an app to verify sneakers based on Artificial intelligence.
Entrupy is defined on its website as a generator of “Scalable solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence for product verification, anytime, anywhere”.
“Secure inventory, protect supply chains and add confidence to retail and resale transactions,” adds the company.
Your goal is increase the credibility of reseller companies, filling the knowledge gap while protecting buyers and sellers from fake products.
Entrupy’s steps to verify sneakers with its Artificial Intelligence
The basis of Entrupy is that, even if there are people with great experience in sneaker authentication, they will always have a hard time working permanently 24/7. With your application, the following steps are followed for the detection of fake products:
- The shoe information is entered into the Entrupy app.
- The user processes each shoe in the pair using the company’s light box, with multiple cameras capturing details.
- Entrupy’s Artificial Intelligence compares images with an extensive database. Within a minute, the app will tell if the item is legit or not.
With each scan, the company explains, the algorithms become more intelligent and precise (based on learning), “even with products as varied as sneakers.”
According to the company, the accuracy rate of the app is 99.1%. “It is very unlikely that an inauthentic item will be misidentified as authentic, but just in case, we provide a financial guarantee to protect it in the rare event that we are wrong.”
