So far, 2.5 million tickets have been sold for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
To date, the Qatar 2022 World Cup is the most expensive in history.
In 2018, FIFA achieved revenues of more than 4 billion dollars, more than half of what it registered in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
A few days after the start of one of the most important sporting events in the world, such as the Qatar 2022 World Cup, stories of fans and supporters of the national teams have begun to emerge. Recently, the story of three Argentines for arriving in Qatar by bicycle in order to support their team in the World Cup that will start next Sunday, November 20, has gone viral.
It is no secret to anyone that this sport is governed worldwide, the Federation Internationale de Football Association, better known as FIFA, which is the body in charge of organizing the event like the World Cup.
Given this, the World Cup is one of the most relevant sporting events and, in terms of income, generates millions of dollars for FIFA and for all those responsible and involved. In that sense, according to FIFAthe World Cup final is played every four years to culminate a month-long tournament between 32 nations, where the 2018 between France and Croatia reached an average television audience of 517 million live viewers.
The history
For many it may seem like a journey, but for the men identified as Lucas Ledezma, Leandro Blanco Pighi and Silvio Gatti who formed the group ‘All pedal’, they traveled 10 thousand 500 kilometers by bicycle throughout 15 countries for 177 days and just this Monday they arrived in Qatar.
According to the adventurous fans, the purpose of the journey was to reach the country, where the World Cup will begin on November 28 and accompany them to seek the cup next to the Argentine scaloneta.
But that’s not all, the fans also recorded a documentary of everything they experienced, as well as planting a tree in the province of Córdoba, in Argentina, for each kilometer traveled.
It was learned that the bicycle trip was made from South Africa, crossing Africa and the Middle East. They began to document their journey since last May.
The story went viral on social networks and the men even shared various videos of their arrival in Doha, and were received by a group of Argentine fans.
In just a few days, the stories of people around the World Cup begin to come out, and in this digital age it is easier to share them and that they transcend borders and languages.
This is the case of a young man who shared on TikTok everything he gathered in two years to travel to the World Cup, going viral for his feat. The user shares with his followers the process that took him to collect all the coins to the point of separating them by denomination and, finally, making the sum.
In a second video, the fan reveals that he collected the amount of $17,900 pesos in coins of 10 and another $14,320 pesos, figures that add up to a total of 32,220 pesos for his trip to Qatar 2022. A video posted on TikTok shows a young man saving his 5 and 10 peso coins with the aim of collecting as much as possible to experience Qatar 2022.
And this is how this event moves the fiber of many people, so we must not forget that the World Cup is, without a doubt, one of the sporting events that generates the most income in marketing, transmission rights, ticket sales, merchandiseetc. and that creates stories that we will remember all our lives.
