Before continuing, it is important to define what artificial intelligence is, because there is some confusion about what it is and what it is not.
I define artificial intelligence as the ability given to computer systems to perform tasks that are normally done by humans. The AI tries to imitate the reasoning process of the human being to help with certain tasks.
The fear of AI
Artificial intelligence does absolutely nothing by itself, until the human gives it the instruction to do what it was only programmed to do; This allays a bit of the fear of machines taking over the world as it did in various science fiction novels and movies.
It should be said that it does not matter if we are for or against; Artificial intelligence tools have grown exponentially and it is a clear trend that will continue in the coming months, because every day more people are using it for different purposes. We can watch or we can get directly involved to take advantage of it. I see this great trend as one more tool to complement the work we already do, not to replace it.
More than two decades ago, when Photoshop emerged, there was a current of designers and photographers who were against this software, arguing that it killed the profession and took away its meaning, since in theory anyone could create images without having the bases of design or photography. Hardly today we find a photographer who does not use Photoshop to edit and enrich his photographs; so today we are facing a new type of tool that if we know how to use it will be a super power in our favor.
which AI do you need
Now, many locate artificial intelligence by systems for generating images from text such as Stable Diffusion, Dall-e or Midjourney, but in reality that is only a part, there are many more applications that we can take advantage of.
There are different types of AI tools, for example text generators (text to text) that from an instruction generate texts according to the request. The best known lately is OpenAI’s ChatGPT, but there are others like CopyAI or Rytr that can help us write for practically whatever we need, from posts for social networks, blog articles, email responses, etc.
For advertising there are some such as clickable or Adcreative AI that allow display ads to be generated in a matter of seconds; from copy to art.
Some of the most common are AI assistants like YOU or Rewind that do searches like Google, but deliver more detailed results.
Other AI systems that cover any industry are automation systems that, through specific programming, perform tasks that can be complicated or repetitive for a human. some of the most common are Zapier and IFTTT.
Companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Sony and Samsung are already betting on creating artificial intelligence solutions for different applications and industries. IBM is pioneering artificial intelligence with its powerful Watson tool. This technology arrived with everything and is already defining the way of working in several industries and ours is one of the main ones that can benefit from it.
Knowledge that is not shared loses its value completely.
