Check what the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradorregarding the possibility that there will be school activity this weekend.
The head of the SEP, Leticia Ramírez, made a statement to parents and students indicating that minors must attend classes on that date from 10:00 in the morning (Mexico time), to carry out different activities about the strategy “If you take drugs, you hurt yourself”, in the 32 entities of the country. The reason there are classes on Saturday June 17 is to join forces at the national level in favor of the well-being and care of girls, boys, adolescents and young people. The government strategy is reduce the consumption of psychotropic substances among the young. “We must show a national force for the well-being and care of children, adolescents and young people”, stressed Ramirez.
The president of Mexico supported this information and provided explanations about the reasons behind this measure. It is necessary to specify that the activities will also be focused on strengthening self-care and self-esteem of students, emotional health and the participation of families and work in the community. Not only the schools will participate in the fight against drugs, as it also contemplates the sports facilities, gardens, squares and community centers from different cities.
When is there a bridge for students in June?
The last Friday of this month, specifically on June 30, is designated as a day off on the school calendar. On that date, the School Technical Council will be held, as usual every last Friday of the month, according to the official calendar established by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
