We have been talking for a long time about Apple’s future mixed reality headsets, a project that is very well cared for by the company with the bitten apple before the eyes of its competitors and the public and that will surely have your own virtual world.
Although we could call it “Apple’s metaverse”, as a report published on the Apple website recalls slashgear, in Cupertino they don’t like the word “metaverse”. Let’s call it Apple’s interactive virtual world, which will be powered by its next mixed device.
Reports suggest that 2023 will be the year of presentation of these high-end mixed reality headsets from Apple, probably very expensive (around $3,000) and that would include the M2 chip. Seeing them at the next Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is possible.
However, hardware is only one part of the business equation, as the software will play an equally important role.
The virtual world of Apple
According to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark GurmanApple has been hiring people to develop the software and one of those projects may involve your own version of the metaversewhich would not be called that because of the competition, Meta.

In January, Gurman said his sources had revealed that Apple was not going to make a metaverse for its mixed reality platform, something apparently underscored by the company’s absence from the Metaverse Standards Forum.
However, in his latest Power On newsletter, the insider reports that those from Cupertino are stepping up their work on the software aspect of their upcoming mixed reality headset and that the effort involves, among other things, the development of a “3D mixed reality world.”
The report also details that Apple has outlined projects and programs like Siri that, among other things, will also be part of its mixed reality platform. Another thing that is rumored is the launch of a video service aimed at users of the device, with 3D content.
