We have already told you that Android 11 is official and that the first Developer Preview for Google Pixel is available. In this first version, they are showing some of the news that Google wants to implement in the final operating system. One of the most important is related to dark mode. Last year with Android 10 it was definitely integrated into the system, but with some shortcomings. One of the first news that Google has included in the dark mode is the possibility of programming it. Yes, with Android 11 you can configure the start and end time of the dark mode.
It is a detail that many users have been asking for in Android since dark mode is a reality. Some layers of customization already allowed this, but not Android Stock. Now that the programming is present in the settings we will see more manufacturers adopt this configuration in their customization layers.
You can now program the dark mode on Android 11
At the moment one of the star options of the new Developer Preview is to be able to program the dark mode. The settings interface is very similar, but now includes a small configuration to set a start and end time for the dark mode. Once set it will be repeated daily and will change automatically at the set time.
You can set the dark mode to be activated at 7:00 p.m. and to be deactivated at 9:00 a.m. In this way, throughout the night you will enjoy an interface in dark mode. You only have to configure it once, because the rest of the days the process will be carried out transparently.
Of course, the interface also allows you to always have it active as before. The new configuration allows you to have more control depending on the solar time of your area or how you like to visualize the interface at certain times of the day.
Unfortunately, you need a Google Pixel to try Android DP1 and dark mode programming. You will have to wait until Google announces non-Pixel devices with access to the betas of Android 11 or the publication of the final version.
