WHAT DOES THE END OF SEASON 2 OF “AND JUST LIKE THAT” MEAN?
Why did Samantha Jones reappear?
Samantha Jones’s reappearance on the series was due to fervent demand from the public after the first season, despite the tensions that had arisen between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker. Although these differences resulted in Kim Cattrall filming her scene separately from the rest of the cast, the series’ writers found an ingenious solution to satisfy both the public’s demands and the circumstances of the shoot.
Samantha Jones makes her cameo in the first minutes of episode 11, as she decides to call Carrie to let her know that she will not be able to visit her as a surprise–as she had planned– to accompany her at the farewell dinner at her apartment, since her flight was delayed. three hours.
The dialogue between the two friends reflects the affection and shared history, as Samantha agreed to fly back and forth for just one night, remembering that this apartment had been a special place for them over the years.
Although this does not mean the return of Samantha (the favorite character of “Sex and the City” of many fans of the original series), it redeems her participation and leaves her relationship with the writer on good terms (leaving in the past the inconsistent excuse of who left because he fired her as his agent in the first season).
Why can’t Aidan and Carrie be together?
Despite the shared history and connection that Carrie and Aidan have, their reconciliation is not possible due to a series of adverse circumstances that stand in their way. Mainly, the responsibility that John Corbett’s character feels for his children.
His 13-year-old son, Wyatt, has been involved in a car accident, and as a result, Aidan is dealing with the overwhelming guilt of not having been around at the time. They found out that Wyatt was under the influence of not only alcohol, but also drugs, when the accident occurred.
This made Aidan realize that he can’t just leave his kids behind and go back to New York anytime he wants. In the midst of this difficult scenario, Aidan asks Carrie to wait for him for five years. Although he still has feelings for her, her responsibility as a parent to her is her top priority right now.
