For decades, Pokémon has featured hundreds of characters that, in their respective evolutions, have become fan favorites. Either because of his personality, powers and even great demonstrations against other Pokémon of different types. And, of course, it should not be forgotten that as new generations come out, players have other options of starter Pokémon that they can train to reach their maximum form.
Whereas, for example in the game, There are 18 species, among which we find Dragon, Ice, Flying, Ghost, Normal, Poison, Water, Rock, Psychic, Bug, Steel, Grass, Earth, Fire, Electric, Fire, Earth and Fighting types.; There are also combinations that make them pure or hybrid, the training options are really great.
In this way, each generation brings its own surprises, but at the same time they include types, especially in the new ones that have included Water, Grass and Fire. That is why it is not surprising that the training possibilities are so attractive for the players. In fact, several of them have added extra value to the official Pokémon with their creations. Where, as we have seen in the past, they show an interesting appearance and possible powers of the characters. Especially because they merge the best of each of them.
The fan arts that show love for Pokémon
As the franchise has been innovating its generations and attributing their own appeal to them, it seems that for gamers, the range of official Pokémon isn’t enough when it comes to creativity. It could even be said that for many of them it is not necessary to go back to the most distinctive elements of the last generation, but they also remember some of the first Pokémon with nostalgia. Or, they add some kind of update to them. But, when it comes to curious mixes, fans of the series always have something to show for it. Hence a fan of the Pokémon series has decided to make some fantastic illustrations with some of the initial Pokémon.
Fortunately, the feedback of the franchise on the Internet is a constant. Where, in well-known groups within Reddit, fans often share their work. This time, a user known as mono_luca published a series of images made by himself. And, although it is something that has been seen on numerous occasions, the fan’s work is quite complete. In other words, mono_luca portrayed the nine initial grass-type Pokémon. In fact, I draw them with such precision that it perfectly represents their aspects evolved over several generations of Pokémon.
In case you’re still wondering, in the drawing, Every character we know from the Grass-type starters lineup appears: Rowlet, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, and Grookey to Chikorita, Treecko, Snivy, and Chespin., while taking a restful nap. Also, a great detail from the creator is that he included Sprigatito (the next starter from the Gen 9 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games). And, to finish off the color effects, the artist left a cool blue-toned background to contrast with the green colors of the sleepy Pokemon:
As you can see, members of the Pokémon community have been discussing some of the most valuable details of this work of art. After its publication, it has received more than 5,400 upvotes. While most of the fans mentioned their favorite Pokémon throughout the comments.
Best of all, the artist has not only done this work. Shortly after posting this Grass-type lineup, he was inspired by the Fire- and Water-type starters for other creations, which he gave a rather adorable twist to, like the ones you saw earlier. And as expected, this post also managed to grab the attention of the fan community with thousands of upvotes.
Thanks to creators like mono_luca, the experience with series or games like Pokémon, is much more diverse and, of course, attracts more and more fans for its ingenious designs. Especially since we are on the eve of the long-awaited release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the latest installment (planned for November 18, 2022). Possibly also in the future we will see other illustrations of the next generation.
