At the fifty-fifth meeting, Óscar Reyes Miguel, coordinator of Digital Services and Information for Health and Administration, presented the advances in the digital application for the operation of the Blood Bank platform, and dissemination of information among the staff of health and beneficiaries on oncological procedures.
Improvements in the pediatric cancer service
He noted that within the Blood Bank System, training was carried out for health workers from the La Raza High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) and for the central call center staff.
In a virtual session, he added that Administration By Objectives (APO) training was developed in hospitals of the National Medical Center (CMN) La Raza, as well as a visit to the Puebla Specialty Hospital for the training of nursing and medical personnel on the use of the Application.
Reyes Miguel announced that the next activities include the promotion of the Blood Bank application for the knowledge of the population and donors, as well as the different areas involved with the information, and the work on the breast cancer module will continue.
He added that during the last week, 119 people joined the oncology registration and treatment platform, for a total of 5,564 patients, 43 percent pediatric and 57 percent adult, who receive care in 51 hospitals, 14 Units High Specialty Doctors (UMAE) and 37 Second Level.
For his part, Dr. Enrique López Aguilar, National Coordinator of Oncology, referred to the requirement of blood and COVID-19 tests to perform “Intratecal” procedure at Hospital General Regional (HGR) No. 20 Tijuana, Baja California, and indicated that it is not necessary to carry out such a study for the administration of drugs.
